Scott Thomas Lowe POETRY

(untitled)

almost twenty four unemployed
afraid to love anyone
even himself
purposely avoiding
emotional commitments
and always aware
of too many things
The middle American
result of his environment
preoccupied with
political issues
yet seldom committed due largely to
fear of long term
incarceration
and the uselessness
inherent in
actual valid forms
of contemporary self expression
wearing a costume
resembling that
of a spaced out
rodeo clown
with ridiculous
Intellectual
pretentions
