Scott Thomas Lowe POETRY "The return of the voice of America" It's been twenty years since the world got to hear the voice of America It's been in the desert like Moses so now all you hear is Eminem and Korn Britney Spears And Guns and Roses This is no overdub no Culture Club no Kid Rock no shit crock no bullshit leaking This is the only authentic GEN-U-WHINE Voice of America speaking You let them steal the election 'cause Bill had an erection and Monica knelt down and blew so now the fascists are in power the people who elected them are you We've been through Reagan Reagan and Bush Clinton and Gore and now once more it's time shove comes to push I can remember when the riots were on and all of the boomers were freaking what has gone on in the years I've been gone The ship of state is now leaking It's time to wake up and realize what happens when you listen to those guys for any of the answers you've been seeking Everything is for sale while they build a new jail to put your kids in just for smoking you and I know that's not the way to go I'll tell you the truth I'm not joking so put some oil on the hinge to the door to the room into which you've been peeking If you want to hear get the wax out you ear This is the voice of America speaking Who has this voice two decades gone who is he to point at what is going on Well he is a man that stands just outside the boxes you all live your lives in Now if you'll listen I'll let you decide If he can see straight or he's jivin' This ain't just noise N'Sync or Backstreet Boys no management manufactured boy band This here is real oh it's the real deal you'll sure understand the answers to the questions you've been seeking the signal is clear so open your ears This is the voice of America speaking Legalize everything take twelve steps away from prohibition Instead of busting that prostitute bust the chain of your own inhibitions set yourself free and there'll be no need to see bigotry and repression let people say just what they want give them real freedom of expression Everyone gambles everyone lies everyone steals just forgive them No need for borders no need for cops why don't we just stop and learn to share Without illegal immigrants we'd have no food to eat become aware that the idea that you're better than someone else is an illusion and causes confusion the one you should point at is yourself They aren't the problem get it through your head there is no them or us Did you hear what I said (Am I clear) Unless you wanta give this country back to the Indians we're all illegal immigrants here Scott Thomas Lowe © Copyright 2001, Scott Thomas Lowe.
