L.H.O.O.Q. (mp3, 337kb )
A "rectified readymade", executed in 1919. Pencil on a reproduction of the Mona Lisa. When the "L.H.O.O.Q." inscription is pronounced in French, it sounds like "she has a hot ass"!
In 1965, Duchamp affixed a playing card with the Mona Lisa image, unaltered, to a folded note paper with the caption "rasée L.H.O.O.Q." ("L.H.O.O.Q. Shaved").
